The American animated series "The Venture Bros." premiered on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim in 2003. It combines action and comedy as it follows the misadventures of the Venture family. The family includes the well-intentioned but incompetent teenage brothers Hank and Dean, their emotionally unstable and ethically questionable super-scientist father Dr. Venture, their original ultra-violent and macho bodyguard Brock Samson, and later his replacement, the reformed super villain and "cured" pedophile Sergeant Hatred. The family's self-proclaimed arch-nemesis is the Monarch, a super villain with a butterfly theme.
