On the planet Mars, an anthropomorphic race of mice passionate about motorsports thrived until they were nearly wiped out by the Plutarkians, an alien race of obese, foul-smelling humanoids who exploit other planets' resources. Three survivors—Throttle, Modo, and Vinnie—manage to escape in a spaceship but are shot down by a Plutarkian warship, crash-landing in Chicago at Quigley Field's scoreboard. There, they meet Charlene "Charley" Davidson, a skilled mechanic, and learn that the Plutarkians have come to Earth to plunder its natural resources. As the Biker Mice investigate the rundown areas of Chicago, they discover that the city's leading industrialist, Lawrence Limburger, is actually a Plutarkian in disguise, scheming to steal Earth's resources to save his dying planet. With the help of his henchmen—mad scientist Dr. Karbunkle and the bumbling Greasepit—Limburger plots to carry out his plan. However, the Biker Mice, determined to protect Earth and seek justice for their home, become heroic vigilantes, thwarting Limburger's efforts and frequently demolishing his towering headquarters, forcing him to continuously rebuild.
