In a post-apocalyptic future, three hundred years after the Great War between Autobots and Decepticons, Cybertron is now ruled by the Maximals, descendants of the Autobots, who coexist with the Predacons, descendants of the Decepticons. Tensions rise when a rebellious Predacon named Megatron steals Cybertron's most coveted relic, the golden disk, igniting conflict once again. His escape is thwarted by the Maximal exploration ship, the Axalon, led by Optimus Primal. Both ships are pulled into transwarp space, ultimately crash-landing on an unfamiliar planet rich in energon—a resource vital for their survival. However, the energon levels are dangerously high, forcing both factions to adopt alternate forms based on the local wildlife to withstand the planet's environment. Now, Optimus Primal and the Maximals must thwart Megatron's scheme to harness the energon and assert control over the galaxy once more.
