Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Set in Hollywood in 1947, the story features cartoon characters, known as "toons," who interact with real people and live in the animated district of Toontown. Private detective Eddie Valiant, who once collaborated with toons alongside his brother Teddy, has become embittered after Teddy was murdered by a toon. This tragedy led Eddie to alcoholism and a deep disdain for toons. When R.K. Maroon, head of Maroon Cartoon Studios, expresses concern over the declining popularity of his star, Roger Rabbit, he hires Eddie to investigate rumors about Roger's alluring toon wife, Jessica, and her supposed affair with Marvin Acme, the owner of Toontown and a renowned gag maker. After witnessing Jessica's performance at the secretive Ink & Paint Club, Eddie captures photographs of her and Acme playing patty-cake in her dressing room. These images leave Roger devastated, prompting him to flee the studio, determined that he and Jessica will find happiness together.
