They say cats have nine lives, and Felix seems to be no exception. Nearly thirty-five years after his debut, the beloved cat was making a comeback in the 1990s. CBS, convinced that Felix deserved a place on the Saturday morning lineup, quickly produced 55 five-second bumpers for the 1994 season. Although a full show wasn't ready in time, Felix appeared between established cartoons, introducing a new audience to the clever feline. Confident as ever, Felix demanded his own show from the executive in charge of children's programming, asserting that he wouldn't settle for being overshadowed by lesser 90s cartoons. The network eventually gave in.
