Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines

Dick Dastardly and Muttley, the villains from Wacky Races, are now pilots in the Vulture Squadron, a group of aviators tasked with stopping a homing pigeon named Yankee Doodle Pigeon from delivering messages. Each story follows a similar pattern: the Vulture Squadron attempts to capture Yankee Doodle Pigeon using various contraptions, but their plans always backfire, leading to crashes, collisions, or explosions. Dick Dastardly calls for help from Muttley, who may or may not assist depending on whether Dastardly promises a medal. Even if Muttley helps, Dastardly often has a rough landing. The General demands results from Dastardly, who assures him of success but is frequently met with disbelief and reprimands. In the end, Yankee Doodle Pigeon always escapes, and the Vulture Squadron faces further mishaps. In a comic book series, Dastardly and Muttley fail to stop Yankee Doodle Pigeon, except once when they accidentally capture it with falling ice cubes. To their surprise, the pigeon's message bag contains only moths.
