The show revolves around two girls, the ditzy blonde Sandy and the intelligent brunette Monica, who live with their uncle, Dudley. Sandy acquires a small puppy named Dinky, which unexpectedly grows to the size of a horse. This leads to a series of misadventures as Sandy and Monica try to find work and repair the damage Dinky causes. Despite the chaos, Dinky always manages to resolve the problems in unexpected ways, earning forgiveness from their uncle. In the second part of the series, Dudley takes his nieces on a world tour on a rented boat, providing Dinky with more opportunities for mischief and adventures on different continents.
