Fooly Cooly (FLCL)

12-year-old working-class boy Naota Nandaba lives with his grandfather and widowed father. His routine in the city of Mabase is disturbed when Haruko Haruhara, a crazy on a Vespa, shows up. She runs over Naota, performs CPR on him, then hits him in the head with a blue vintage Rickenbacker 4001 electric bass guitar she plays with her left hand. She then stalks him. When Naota realizes Haruko has wormed her way into his life as a live-in maid, he learns that the brain injury she caused has created a "N.O." portal from which enormous robots made by the corporation Medical Mechanica regularly emerge. When Haruko hits the first of these robots in the head, it develops into Canti, a helpful service robot. To take on the reddish shape he first had when battling the machines sent for him, Canti consumes Naota.
