The jovial but impoverished Yorozuya team members Gintoki, Shinpachi, and Kagura are back! They strive to survive by performing any task they can get their hands on while living in an alternate universe Edo where swords are forbidden and alien invaders have overtaken Japan. Does Gin-chan actually spend all that money playing pachinko, though? Shinpachi and Kagura still haven't received payment. A neighboring extraterrestrial spaceship crashes as Gintoki stumbles home one night after drinking too much. A crew member who has been fatally hurt emerges from the ship and hands Gintoki a peculiar clock-shaped object, warning him that it is extremely powerful and needs to be protected. The following morning, Gintoki smashes the device thinking it is his alarm clock before realizing that everything outside his flat has come to a complete stop. He sets out to mend the device with Kagura and Shinpachi by his side, but as is customary with the Yorozuya crew, nothing is ever that easy. Gintama's third season finds Gintoki and his pals dealing with both their most funny misadventures and most hazardous crises yet. It is full of tongue-in-cheek humor and poignant emotional moments.
