Kurozuka

Kuro, a character largely modeled on the legendary Japanese fighter Minamoto no Yoshitsune, is the main character of the 12-century Japan-set television series. While evading Kuro's older brother, who is pursuing him and seeking to kill him, Kuro and his servant Benkei encounter Kuromitsu, a stunning and intriguing woman. Kuromitsu and Kuro fall in love, but he soon learns that she is a vampiric immortal who is hiding a dreadful secret. After being attacked by his pursuers, Kuro suffers serious injuries and must drink Kuromitsu's blood to survive. Then, after being duped by a mysterious group known as the Red Army, Benkei betrays Kuro and attacks him, causing Kuro's head to be severed and impeding the change into a totally immortal person.
