Mirage Of Blaze
High school student Takaya Ougi's only goals in life are to safeguard his best friend Yuzuru Narita and lead a regular existence. That is, until fierce and charming Nobutsuna Naoe reveals to Takaya that he is actually Lord Kagetora, the adopted son of a noble samurai lord named Kenshin Uesugi. Takaya's ability to cast out evil spirits and battle the Feudal Underworld, a group of restless warrior spirits intent on conquering the modern world, are revived by Naoe, himself a "possessor," or a soul reborn through time. Takaya is one of the rare possessors that does not recall his previous existences after being reborn. He is frequently hostile to any efforts made to fully restore his memory. As the plot develops, the complicated history of the characters and their past offers an explanation for why this is the case, and the background for a melodrama that spans several generations of Japanese history is provided by the true nature of the turbulent and somewhat ambiguous relationship between the two leads. Naoe, Takaya, and two other possessors prepare to stop it from happening as they rise to the living world to resume their old conflict. The series takes place in the sizable Nagano city of Matsumoto.
