This manga, which is set in Tokugawa Japan, follows Shiina Yuya as she goes on the hunt for her brother's killer. But soon after meeting Mibu Kyoshiro, a medicine salesman, Yuya discovers that he is actually the fearsome warrior Demon Eyes Kyo sharing a body. Over time, Demon Eyes Kyo takes center stage as Mibu Kyoshiro and Shiina Yuya become less prominent characters in the narrative. Kyo's only expressed desire is to get his own body back. As a result of taking this route, Kyo, Yuya, and a number of other travelers come into battle with the Tokugawa shogunate and the Mibu tribe, a group of vicious superhumans who have ruled Japan under cover of darkness for thousands of years.
