Vicky the Little Viking

Vicky, the son of Halvar, the leader of the Viking village of Flake, serves as the series' central figure. Vicky, who differs from his village brethren and most other lads his age in having a keen and creative mind, rescues his fellow Vikings—including rival Viking lord Sven the Terrible—from numerous sticky circumstances. He builds a makeshift catapult to defeat his father in a stone-ferrying competition, equips their longship with kites to make it glide through the air, and uses a small sawfish to cut a hole through a wooden door as some examples of the results of his intellectual approach depicted in the television series and movie adaptation.
