Toward the Terra

Humans have built a perfectly logical society in space five hundred years after the Earth's ecosystem was destroyed and the planet became known as Terra. Supercomputers run the government, parents are chosen at random for newborns being raised in artificial wombs, and youngsters are required to take a "Adulthood Exam" at the age of 14. The "Mu" are humans who have transformed into espers, and they are humanity's greatest nemesis. Jomy Marquis Shin is surprised to discover that all of his childhood memories are going to be erased when his birthday rolls around and it's time for him to take his Adulthood Exam. He hears Soldier Blue, the Mu's leader, yelling at him to hang onto his memories all of a sudden. Jomy escapes on a Mu spacecraft and is surprised to discover that the government has executed him since he is an esper. Soldier Blue, who is nearing the end of his life, gives Jomy his memories and designates him as the Mu's new leader. Jomy must now decide whether to keep the Mu in hiding or to wage war on humanity in order to fulfill their desire to return to Terra.
