Shin Tennis no Ouji-sama
Ryouma Echizen is one of 50 middle school tennis players with a national ranking who have been invited to the Japan U-17 tennis training camp. The elite regiment, which was previously exclusively accessible to high school players, prepares the best athletes in the nation for the forthcoming U-17 World Cup. The middle kids easily overrun the high schoolers before they are stopped by the coaches. The high schoolers are not happy that these middle schoolers are permitted into the camp. The camp's rules are soon revealed: based on skill, the players are divided into one of 16 courts, with the top players inhabiting Court 1. Prior to every practice, "shuffle matches" take place, which determine which players are moved up and down courts. The middle school students are invited to form pairs in preparation for a game, only to learn that they would not be playing doubles with their companions. Instead, they compete against one another in a game similar to a tiebreaker. The victor of the contest would get to stay and hone their talents while the loser would be kicked out. Friendships and teamwork are all put at risk for the sport of tennis. As the middle and high school students continue to compete fiercely, the situations they find themselves in go beyond just playing to stay in the camp.
