The story of a teenage teenager named Tom and his companion Kaz is told in Chaotic. They both participate in the online and trading card game Chaos. Tom consistently rejects Kaz's attempts to convince him that there is a secret code he can use to play for real. The unique password is given to Tom while he is playing online. When he inputs the password into his game scanner, he is taken to a site called Chaotic, which can transport him to a different universe where the people, places, and things in the card game actually existed. The Chaotic world is divided into two components: Perim and the Chaotic itself. In chaotic, players engage in an upgraded version of the card/online game in which they can change into various creatures. Other players can watch the games on a monitor.
