Lycoris Recoil (New Anime Project)

In Japan, the group Direct Attack (DA) has drastically reduced terrorist activities by training orphaned girls as assassins through their "Lycoris" program. Takina Inoue, a standout Lycoris, is fiercely driven but loses control during a hostage situation, leading to her removal from DA. Unhappy about leaving her only home, she reluctantly arrives at LycoReco, a café that serves as her new base. However, her new partner, Chisato Nishikigi, turns out to be quite unexpected. Chisato, known as a Lycoris prodigy, seems disengaged from her duties and instead takes Takina on various unconventional tasks under the guise of helping others. Takina is baffled when Chisato manages to subdue armed attackers without killing anyone. Feeling out of place and wanting to return to DA, Takina grapples with her identity, while Chisato strives to show her that life holds more than mere survival.
