The movie is a recap of the TV series Beyond the Boundary. It follows Mirai Kuriyama, a Spirit World warrior, and Akihito Kanbara, a half-human youmu. Mirai tries to kill Akihito but fails due to his immortality. They become friends and join the Literary Club. Together, they fight against other youmu and prepare for the release of the most powerful youmu.
