Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi

Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi begins two years after Kaoru and Aoi's reunion in the original series. E Everything changed when Kaoru fled the Hanabishi family and their relentless physical assault. The two had been engaged but later called off their planned arranged marriage, which would have united their two wealthy families. To meet Kaoru and find out what was going on, Aoi took off to Tokyo.  The two fell in love and were allowed to live together in the same house as long as they kept their relationship a secret, as if they were bound together by that crimson string of fate. The only inheritor of the Sakuraba family's wealth would be Aoi's future spouse, but Kaoru fled the Hanabishi family, thus their union would cause a great controversy.  If not for some of Kaoru's female friends moving in, the two living together would have been just fine. They moved into the house's empty rooms, thinking that Aoi was nothing more than the landlady, and have since made it harder for Kaoru and Aoi to keep their relationship a secret.
