There is no history in Paradigm City. Something happened 40 years ago that erased everyone's memories of it. Unfortunately, before that time, the residents of Paradigm City were very busy creating monsters and Megadueses (huge robots). Those who were born after the memory wipe are regaining or recovering memories from the past, which they are exploiting to create additional dangers.
