Shin Getter Robo: Armageddon

The story starts some time after the Moon Wars, when things have gotten worse for the initial cast. After the passing of Saotome's daughter, Michiru, the main character and pilot of Getter-1, Ryma Nagare, is accused of killing the creator of the Getter Machine, Dr. Saotome. To face none other than Dr. Saotome himself, who has supposedly returned from the dead to threaten humanity with his ultimate creation—and most lethal weapon—the Shin Getter Dragon, he is reluctantly released from prison and reunited on Earth with his old allies, Hayato Jin and Musashi Tomoe. The same cosmic Getter Rays that give life to their machines also fuel the Shin Getter Dragon, a powerful weapon. However, they are unsuccessful in stopping Dr. Saotome because nuclear weapons are used on Shin Dragon, in addition to an overzealous Japanese Defense Force.
