Full Moon wo Sagashite
Twelve-year-old Mitsuki Koyama hopes to pursue a career in music so she can get back together with her first love, Eichi Sakurai. She suffers from sarcoma (a malignant tumor in her throat), which impairs her capacity for deep breathing and loud singing. Only a surgery that could harm her voice cords can remove her tumor. Her grandma despises music and is vehemently opposed to Mitsuki's desire to apply. The dreams of Mitsuki seemed unattainable until Takuto and Meroko, two shinigami that only she could see, came to visit. By accident, Takuto and Meroko inform Mitsuki that she has just one year to live. Later, Mitsuki decides she can no longer put off achieving her dream and flees her house and the shinigami in order to try out for a singing competition. She persuades Takuto to accept a compromise: if Mitsuki agrees to depart quietly once her year is out, he would assist her in learning to sing so she might pass away without having any regrets. Takuto grants her the ability to change into a 16-year-old so that she can pass the audition's age limits and sing freely. With her superb voice and contagious energy, Mitsuki charms the judges and secures a deal with Seed Records. She goes by the stage name "Full Moon" in order to hide her genuine identity.
