The narrative centers on the novelist Itsuki Hashima, who is surrounded by a variety of characters, including a stunning genius author who adores him, a big-sisterly college classmate, a fellow male author, a cruel tax accountant, and his editor. As the plot develops, the underlying conflicts of aspirations and dreams become more apparent as each character tries to fulfill their dreams in their own unique way. The conflict between novelist Itsuki and his companion Haruto is one such instance. While Haruto's novels are motivated by romance and success using more widespread but still well-liked tropes, Itsuki's stories are inspired by a desire for stories about tiny sisters and receive appreciation from a selected but fervently loyal fan following. Each of their tales is filled with typical characteristics found in light novels, such as romantic comedy plots and sensual art. Itsuki's younger "brother," Chihiro, who is actually his younger stepsister, takes care of them all.
