The Gene of AI

Set in the not-so-distant future, this sci-fi anthology introduces us to a world where humanoids, equipped with advanced AI, make up 10% of the population. At the heart of the story is Dr. Sudo Hikaru, a physician specializing in robotic and humanoid ailments. In the shadows, he's known by his alias, Moggadeet, a figure who covertly handles prohibited medical procedures. In one instance, when a man unwittingly transfers a computer virus to his humanoid spouse during an illicit data backup, Dr. Sudo suggests a surgical procedure to restore her memory from the backup. This raises a profound question: can an entity restored from backup truly be considered unchanged from its original state?
