The future is where Buzz Lightyear of Star Command takes place. The Galactic Alliance, a peaceful union of different planets that is home to many alien races that coexist peacefully, is led by Capital Planet. Space Rangers work for Star Command, an institution that maintains peace by looking into potential threats to interstellar harmony. The Evil Emperor Zurg, an interplanetary crime lord who dominates Planet Z and commands an empire of massively armed robots and slave species compelled to fight the Galactic Alliance, is the main antagonist of Star Command and Buzz's archenemy. Buzz Lightyear, a well-known and seasoned Space Ranger who takes a group of novices under his wing as he looks into criminal behavior across the galaxy and tries to foil Zurg's diabolical plans to dominate the cosmos, is featured in the series.
