Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash

"Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash" (also known as "Hai to Gensou no Grimgar") is a fantasy anime series that focuses on the struggles and survival of a group of people in a fantasy world. Unlike many other shows in the genre, it takes a more realistic and somber approach to the idea of being transported to a fantasy realm. The story begins with a group of individuals waking up in the world of Grimgar with no memories of their past lives, save for their names. They are soon forced to become Trainee Volunteer Soldiers to survive and make a living in this unfamiliar world filled with dangerous monsters. The group includes the hesitant leader, Manato, the reserved fighter, Haruhiro, the enthusiastic Ranta, the shy priestess, Shihoru, the friendly rogue, Yume, and the friendly mage, Moguzo. The series documents their struggles as they learn to cooperate with each other, hone their combat skills, deal with the loss and hardships, and come to terms with the reality of their situation.
