"Hakyu Hoshin Engi" is an anime series based on the manga "Hoshin Engi" by Ryu Fujisaki, which is itself a loose adaptation of the ancient Chinese novel "Fengshen Yanyi." The series combines elements of fantasy, adventure, and action. The story is set in a fantastical version of ancient China and follows Taikoubou, a disciple of the god-like sages known as Sennin. After the human world falls under the control of the sinister Sennin, Dakki, Taikoubou is given a critical mission called "Hoshin Plan" to seal away or eliminate many of his fellow Sennin to save the human world from their influence. Throughout his journey, Taikoubou assembles a team of powerful allies, navigates the intrigues of the Sennin world, and faces numerous enemies. Despite the daunting nature of his mission, Taikoubou remains steadfast and cunning, often relying on his intelligence and strategy rather than brute force to overcome obstacles.
