Rikuo Nura is a hybrid being who takes on a human shape during the day and changes into a ykai form at night. He is 3/4 human and 1/4 ykai. His ykai grandfather and he share a home with other ykai. Despite his grandfather's desire for Rikuo to succeed him as the Third Head of the Nura Clan, he tries to avoid his fate by performing good deeds. Rikuo stands out because he cares for people. He ultimately accepts his ykai heritage and chooses to assume the role of the Third Head of the Nura Clan. He must assemble friends and allies, a new Hyakki Yak, under his flag of "Fear," because other factions want to overthrow him or prevent him from assuming his throne.
