A compilation of occasionally bizarre tales with various settings and circumstances, Cream Lemon combines elements of fantasy, comedy, suspense, science fiction, action, drama, mecha, magical girl, horror, and mystery. Sex in practically every form is the series' reoccurring subject. The majority of the chapters in the Cream Lemon series are independent books with distinct titles and no connection to any other story. Ami Nonomura, who has an incestuous relationship with her stepbrother Hiroshi, is the main recurrent character. Thematically, Cream Lemon frequently focuses on inflated and unrealistic sexual themes. A adolescent girl who dislikes having sex since her family has experienced multiple rapes is one example. The school counselor tells her to strip in front of the art class and masturbate herself until she experiences orgasms as a treatment for this. The entire class then begins having sex after she engages in public intercourse with a boy and finds it enjoyable. Others are also strangely bizarre.
