Fifth-grader Kou Kitamura works for his family's sporting goods business. He gets to know the four daughters of the Tsukishima family—Ichiyo, Wakaba, Aoba, and Momiji—quite well because the Tsukishima Batting Center is one of his family's regular customers. Kou is a fantastic hitter because he spends so much time honing his swing in their batting cages, but he knows nothing about other facets of baseball. Aoba, who is a skilled pitcher and hitter despite being a year younger, stands out in contrast because of this. Kou's classmate Wakaba seems completely set on marrying him when she grows up. Everything in their existence appears perfect until a tragedy occurs. The narrative then jumps to four years later, at which point Kou has continued the training he started four years prior but has not since participated in a baseball game. It will be interesting to see if he can live up to the expectations of those who know the genuine potential he has been hiding all these time as he finally starts playing again.
