Detroit Metal City

Young musician Soichi Negishi is quiet and aspires to work in pop. He has ended up as the lead singer and guitarist of the blackened death metal band "Detroit Metal City" because dreams do not pay the bills. He appears on stage as Johannes Krauser II, a terrifying demon from hell who is said to have murdered and raped his parents, wielded a big death penis carelessly, and other terrifying tales that are told about him after each public performance. In a satire of the genre, the songs of DMC frequently exhort the listener to engage in immoral and unlawful activity, such as rape or murder, or they recount Krauser's escapades with comparable actions. Negishi loathes DMC and everything it represents, yet he is unable to quit his job as the band's insane frontman. Negishi is a fury addict who is also a very accomplished guitarist underneath his modest outward appearance. He also feels obligated to the other members of the band and his label, and the label manager keeps pulling him back in. The Krauser persona also serves as a way for him to express his resentment over his unsuccessful personal career, which has not progressed past the level of street musician. He only receives the scorn of onlookers when he performs on the street because of his corny pop songs.
