Gegege no Kitarou 1968

"Gegege no Kitarou (1968)" is the first anime adaptation of the popular manga series "Gegege no Kitarou" by Shigeru Mizuki. The series originally aired from 1968 to 1969. The story centers around the young yōkai (supernatural creature from Japanese folklore) boy, Kitarou, who is the last surviving member of the Ghost Tribe. Alongside his father, who has reincarnated as a sentient eyeball called Medama-Oyaji, and other yōkai friends, Kitarou works to maintain the peace between the human and yōkai worlds. Throughout the series, Kitarou and his companions intervene in situations where malevolent yōkai are causing trouble for humans or other yōkai. The anime showcases a mix of horror and comedy elements, which are well blended in the storyline.
