Iori Kitahara is getting ready to start college on the Izu Peninsula and is looking forward to living there in a room above his uncle's dive shop, "Grand Blue." But as soon as he meets the neighborhood diving club, a bunch of buff men who prefer to drink, party, and go naked than actually dive, he is astonished. Iori makes an effort to stay away from the gang, but he soon finds himself drawn into their antics as his cousins try to impress upon him the wonders of diving into the sea and ocean.
