Machines dominate in the post-apocalyptic aftermath of a conflict between machines and the people who created them, with humans reduced to serfdom. In each episode, the titular character Karen commands Resistance Group 11, a diverse group of people who are on the run from robots and battling for their survival. Is mankind on its last legs now? Do they have a losing strategy? Through Karen, we examine a conflict between good and evil and between love and indifference that probes some of the most fundamental issues with humanity.
