"MÄR" (Marchen Awakens Romance) is a fantasy adventure anime series based on the manga of the same name by Nobuyuki Anzai. The series aired from 2005 to 2007. The story follows Ginta Toramizu, an average 14-year-old boy who frequently dreams of a fantastical land known as MÄR-Heaven. One day, Ginta is mysteriously transported to MÄR-Heaven, discovering that it's a real place filled with magical items called ÄRM and populated by unique creatures. In MÄR-Heaven, Ginta acquires the powerful Babbo ÄRM, a sentient magical weapon with a personality of its own. He joins the fight against the Chess Pieces, an evil organization intent on ruling MÄR-Heaven.
