Sunao Moriyama discovers an odd but endearing creature that he calls Potemayo. Potemayo begins to ride on top of him and follow him everywhere. His discovery becomes the topic of discussion in his school class. A similar creature then arrives shortly after, and one of Sunao's classmates gives it the name Guchuko. Guchuko, however, doesn't seem to be as amicable as Potemayo.
