Koyomi Araragi, a third-year high school student, wakes up in a weird, empty emptiness after meeting oddity expert Izuko Gaen, only to be welcomed by a happily familiar face in a frighteningly unknown location. Araragi navigates the tangles of his history and the conundrums of the present with the aid of his girlfriend Hitagi Senjougahara in pursuit of solutions.
