Inaba Yuushi moved in with his relatives when his parents passed away during his first year of middle school. He knew they loved him, but he also knew he was a burden. He eagerly made plans to transfer to a high school with a dorm when he graduated. Unfortunately, he couldn't move in because the dorm burned to the ground first! It's difficult for Yuushi to obtain housing as an orphaned student with few resources, even though he doesn't want to live with his reluctant relatives. The room he ultimately finds in a charming old building appears too good to be true. The problem is that it's a Monster House, a residence for ghosts, mononoke, and other otherworldly beings. Akine, a cute girl from another high school who resides there, is entirely unconcerned about the monsters. In fact, she has the ability to cast out demons!
