The series, which takes place after the events of the fourth movie, is focused on 11-year-old Keisuke Amano, Natsume's younger brother and both of their parents' children from the original Youkai Watch anime, Keita Amano and Fumika Kodama. Keisuke doesn't believe in any supernatural occurrences around him. But after noticing that his sister frequently arrives home after a late start, he made the decision to stalk her. What he discovered was that she was carrying out her responsibilities with her pals Touma and Akinori while also managing a Yo-Kai detective business. Natsume agreed to let him join her in her activities as they look into Youkai crimes and combat wicked Youkai to keep the city peaceful after she told him their secret.
