The neutral Principality of Gallia is invaded by the Europan Imperial Alliance as part of its westward resource expansion, with the aim of seizing control of its massive Ragnite mines. Because of their strategic advantage, technological edge, and military strength, they easily steamroll across the boundary of the dormant principality with no resistance. Welkin Gunther and his younger sister Isara move quickly, joining forces with the head of the neighborhood militia to drive the occupation forces from their peaceful hometown. After making a hasty retreat to the Gallian capital, they form a unit with the remaining militia members and are given the responsibility of helping to drive out the Imperial presence from the nation. The newly created Squad Seven must protect their nation against annexation despite having no prior military experience. However, as the struggle continues through Gallia's neighborhoods, old secrets will pull the group closer than they ever imagined.
